Interested in starting yoga? You've come to the right place!

Learning about yoga couldn’t be easier with our Beginners Yoga course. It will give you a great foundation in the yoga basics.

Our next course starts week beginning 12th October 2026 and lasts 4 weeks.

Regular yoga can help reduce stress, anxiety and risk of disease.
Physically, it will help you relax and feel rejuvenated, and keep you flexible and fit.

Why not give our course a go and begin enjoying the benefits and pleasures of yoga?

This Foundation Basics course is ideal for:

  • those new to yoga
  • anyone new to our school
  • those coming back to yoga and wanting a refresher to get back up to speed
  • existing students – this course will greatly enhance your understanding during regular classes as well as offering a framework to establish a ‘home practice’.

We start from the very beginning looking at the basics of a pose, body alignment and how to link the breath with the movements.
The course is designed for everyone – you don’t need to be fit or strong!

We have flexible pricing so you can choose what best suits you and how much time you can commit.

These prices are for the 4 week course.

1 class a week: $112 ($28 a class)
2 classes a week: $175 ($22 a class)
3 classes a week: $215 ($18 a class)
4 classes a week: $255 ($16 a class)
5 classes a week: $300 ($15 a class)

So, for example, the $215 course pass allows you to attend any 3 Foundation Basics yoga classes each week for 4 weeks – that’s great value at $18 a class.

We suggest that by attending 2-3 times a week you will start to quickly feel the benefits of yoga.
The more often you attend, the greater the benefit!

I wanted to share some gratitude! Recently I attended a 5 day silent retreat. As well as several meditation sessions, each day's routine included about 3 hours of Yoga across morning and afternoon sessions. While enjoyable, it quickly became apparent that as a student at Central Coast School of Yoga I had been blessed with instructors that have taught me excellent foundations. For the most part of the 22 other attendees, even though claiming some experience, even teaching experience, it was apparent to me that there was some questionable basics being demonstrated. Everything from wearing socks, drinking water during the session to mouth breathing and lack of awareness and attention to the position and activation of hands and feet during asanas. At first I was a bit shocked. Then I quickly realised that Peter, Catherine, Viv and Tracey all have reinforced the importance of breathing and the mindfulness of body that allows one’s focus to develop for true union of body and mind. Sometimes we don’t realise how good things are until we experience, or observe, the opposite. In just want to take time to express my gratitude to the dedication that the team at CCSY give to not only their students, but to providing such authentic instruction to allow us to find the harmony of real Yoga, and its benefit. Thank you so much! 🙏

Central Coast School of Yoga, under the guidance of Peter Mulholland, is truly a gem in the world of yoga. As someone new to the practice, I was seeking more than just physical wellness—I craved a deeper connection with the non talking part of my brain and spirit. Little did I know, I would find exactly what I needed within the welcoming embrace of this school. What sets Central Coast School of Yoga apart is its emphasis on inclusivity and authenticity. Unlike other studios that may prioritise aesthetics over substance, here, the focus is solely on the practice itself. The instructors radiate a genuine passion for sharing the art of yoga, creating an environment where students of all levels feel welcomed and supported. Whether you're a beginner like myself or a seasoned yogi, you'll find a welcoming community and knowledgeable instructors ready to guide you on your journey. I highly recommend Central Coast School of Yoga to anyone seeking not just physical exercise, but a holistic approach to wellness and self-discovery.

Down to earth, intuitive, practical, safe, I have benefited greatly from Peter's classes. The online classes during covid, especially the breathing classes, saw me through a period that was scary (prevaccine), having to wear and work in an n95 for 8 - 10 hours. Despite teaching for 33 years, his enthusiasm teaching anatomy has the freshness of a first year teacher. 😊 I have done a face to face special session on praynayama and one on stress management. I left both classes feeling happy, energised and with tools that I can use. Peter's teachings and pearls of wisdom often come to mind in day to day activities. 🧡🙏

I have been either sending patients (I am a retired Osteopath) or personally doing yoga here for approx 25 years. I particularly like the the good foundation & grounding students are given & how students are encouraged to listen & learn what your body is telling you. Many yoga schools shove spirituality down your throat but that is definitely not the case here. You are encouraged to listen & your own belief is strengthened.

The first time I took the foundations course I was immediately amazed at how much more attentive I became in my every day habits, movements and mindset. Peter and his teachers share a very nurturing philosophy and I learn something new in every session, always walking out full of gratitude with a smile on my face. This is authentic yoga and I would recommend it to EVERYONE of all ages and abilities.
